Huguenot Submission of Eldon G. Keefer. Descendancy of the Huguenot family Le Tonnelier, who fled France to Germany in the 1500's. Many branches came to the New World in Colonial times, and many more later. The family name changed from the French Le Tonnelier, to the German equivalent, Küfer, and becomes Kieffer, Keefer, etc., even Cooper (the English equivalent) after arriving in America.

Submissions should be e-mailed to the webmaster with the following conditions:
  1. Files should be stripped of lines not related. So, the progenitor, each of his descendants and their spouses may be included, but not the ancestors of spouses, or any other person who is not a descendant of the progenitor.
  2. Sources should be included.
  3. Author's name and e-mail address must be included so that interested persons may contact you directly.
Instructions: (For Internet Explorer users) RIGHT CLICK on the filename, and then choosing the "Save Target As:" option. You will get a dialog box that lets you choose into which directory the file should be placed.

(Note: a left click may result in Windows becoming confused as to what to do with the file if your system does not already have a file association for .GED, or it may start your Genealogy program without actually loading the file.)
